Hi everybody new member here, I have something a little different here, a home made rocket launcher. I have been working on these for about 4 years, this is the x-30 edition. Ill go into more detail later. The basic specs are
12v ignitor
various safety features such as "hot start" (hand must be on 2 seperate switchs to fire)
well enough text on with the pictures

I will post better pictures later, Keep in mind this is only the expermental version, hence the "X"-30.
also- the reason the paint looks so crappy is because I spray painted it, didnt let it dry long enough, scratched it, and then tried to use acetone to wipe the paint off. Well alside from that, let me know what you think

the cannon looks like a real beast   but plz dont talk about firing anything explosive here. its against forum rules and firing an explosive projectile makes it a destructive device which makes it a firearm

The rockets are made of plastic, I experimented with a thin aluminum and graphite/plastic composite stuff which was too expensive, so I switched back to plain plastic. The maximum horizontal range is about 5000ft but its mostly used in situations under 3000ft. The rockets are powered by 3 solid fuel motors which are ignited by a 12v igniter in the back of the launcher.

READ THIS IT'S A FUNNY STORY

i send up a lot of estas rockets, if you use a wing design for fins, and can launch it with the wings perpindicular to the ground you will get more distance, the highest i have launched 1 is - well - it was a 4' 6" X 2 3/4"s diameter on the ground, when the engine stopped burning it looked smaller then a pencil it went so high, we could barely see it, only got to send it up once, u see it was sapposed to be 6' 7"s X 2 3/4"s dia. before i launched it, some1 stepped on it and i had to cut 2' out, and i forgot to make ajustment on parashute, every time the wind blew it just went higher and higher like a kite, so that left us with 2 left over rocket engines - (size D15-7, D = power, 15 = time engine burns, 7 = time before parashute pops), loosing it made me mad so i laid a engine on the sidewalk and lit it up, IT SHOT 5' DID A 90 STRAIGHT UP, DID ANOTHER 90 HEADED STRAIGHT FOR STRIP MALL, LANDED RITE AT FEET OF LITTLE OLD LADY GETTING IN HER CAR, SHE GOT OUT LOOKED ALL AROUND ALL THE WHILE WE WERE HIDEING BEHIND A CAR LAUGHING OUR ASSES OFF, IT WAS TO FREAKING FUNNY !!! THE ENGINE LEFT A CORK SCREW OF SMOKE THE HOLE WAY IN-
