Ok, this is how cool my mom and dad are...

When I bought my Wii (Yes, I paid for it), My dad decided he could do whatever he wanted with it. He put ublocks on the web browser and all other online content. (including WiiConnect24) When I dicovered he had done this, I asked why he thought he could come into my room and mess with my personal belongings, he said "It's easier to only have one piont of connectivity" Hmmm...

In the last couple of months, my mom has been taking me on weekly trips to Lowe's, each time I never spent over $10. I ended up owing her $50 (She said so), but then she decided that I randomly owed her over $125. When I got into an argument with her about her taking the money my neighbor pays me for mowing his lawn, she just simply stated "I can't count how many times I have spent money on you." and that was that. I had to give her all of my money. Even better.

What do you think about this?

ok, maybe not, but they probably think you did something that you didnt . thats my guess. i think everyone goes through a phase like that with their parents, your's just happens to be really bad.

It's my opinion, that if you save up for it, they have no right to mess with it, but then if you use that, they'll just counter, well, we bought this house, your bed, your clothes, we pay for food, etc...

In the end, they are the parents and it's their right to do whatever.

To solve that problem for myself, I just get smart enough about computers, then when I built my own (
*2.4 GHz AMD Dual core processor
*2 Gigs RAM
*some shitty GFX card for 60 bucks, i needed a PCI-E card...)

I made sure to search long and hard for a nice case, that locked

So I lock my computer case before I go to sleep/school/anytime I'm not in my room so my dad can't sneak in and install filters/keyloggers/etc...


Shoulda locked it up in a small pistol case or something...

Sounds like standard parenting to me, sorry about your luck! Maby mom tacked on gas fee's. As for 1 point of connectivity, to many machines on 1 household phone line will cause problems, caller id mite not work, bad static on the open line, answering machine wont pick up ect...

Lowe's is litterally 3 miles from my house...no problem with gas.

We have a wireless-N router (super strong) so it won't really matter if I connect the Wii to it.

This is definately not "standard" parenting by any means. I get straight As and Bs, I've never done any kind of drugs/alcohol, and I haven't gotten grounded even once in 3 years. (no, that's not an exaggeration)

well, she probably has spent a small fortune on you...however, it still isnt cool. i think theres some agreement that parents sign when kids are born that states they have to spend money on you, and if its under $20 they cant ask for it back, and if its over, and they dont ask in 2 months, they cant ask again.

dude, i want to go to a boardinng school year after next. im in 8th grade, and we're going to europe next year. but i want to go because A) my dad alwas breathes down my nexk when it comes to school, and we end up getting really pissed B) i'll have just spent a year with him C) ill be able to get a 360, and he cant do anything about it D) they let you have cannons. plus, the school is only 5 hrs away, and they have breaks like every 3 weeks.

As with anyone else who has had their parents filter internet access and stuff, you can EASILY get through the filters with a bit of knowledge or connections to the right people (me lol)
