actually there is. the fumes are what start the fire not the plain gas. my uncle tried starting a fire by throwing gas in it from a can and the was little left and that made fumes, it mad a trail of fumes that chased him. oh i was not an eyewitness my mom and my uncles that where there said it happened.

I got out a month ago, and i soaked my school papers/notebooks in gasoline, set the pile in a 55 gallon drum with a 100 gram flash powder charge beneath it, lit the papers and set of the charge. It was beatiful. But yeah, gasoline fumes are bad.

Mr.Steve is rigt say if demilus was playing on a slip n slide filled with gas and then decided to light himself on fire and tried to put hinself out with his paers thatd be dumb but if he just put gas on the paper stood back and threw a lit rag on it he will be fine, but i must say demilus how rich are you useing two gallons of gas on a pile of flammable paper? lol

STFU!!! I get out this friday, and I have to do my quarter project, and I have to do some work which I should be working on now, and if I don't get that done, I will fail this quarter and semester. I have my final project to finish, for that I need to finish my display board, get a private interview from a SeaTac airport rep, and present to my class on wednesday. And, I have to do my science notebook, which is all of my notes from this quarter, which was due today, but I couldn't finish it in time due to my quarter project. AND, I also have another project for one for one of my electives which is due Thursday, which I haven't even started typing up. You guys have it so easy...

It's really not all that dangerous to start a fire with gas. (Thanks people who told me I'm not a retard ) All you have to do is use a little caution. First, don't dump the gas on, then stand there and let the fumes build up, as this will make a huge fireball, as was already stated by some other people.
I however, threw a lit rag, safely away from the paper pile. It takes a bit of practice (by a bit I mean one time ) to learn to start fires with gas. Ha, the first time I did it, I put about a pint and lit it with a lighter . I lost my eyebrows and half my hair! Oh good times, good times.
Oh, btw, I'm not rich at all (haven't had money for a cannon in like 5 months), I just took the gas that is supposed to be for my lawn mower . Besides, it'd only be like 6 or 7 bucks.

I agree, you really can´t do anything if you just pour it, set the can at a safe distance, then throw a match or lit paper towl at it or something. You will be just fine............ As for throwing gas on a fire from a can............ No offense, but that was a serious duh moment there. Of course its going to chase back to you! Probably not too bad, but as said, the fire went up the vapor trail left behind.
