Ok well you have to get like a locking swing arm fabricated. They look like a circle and are the same diamiter as your spindle. and they swing apart to assist removing and instalation with a think rubber sealing them together. and the second has a rubber grommit between the spindle and chamber that seals flush with the barrel. they only last abou six shots and then the rubber perishes and your left with a loud gun again! but thats the way i seen some SAS bloke fiddle and get good results but hey it takes a bit of stuffing around to get it all to line up properly but it works?

that would work but wouldn't really have any benefits compared to a decent auto

Yeah thats why its not a common thing to see and i sapose thats why its not a production feature. It's not a forever thing and its unrealiable and is known to jam the gun (If its not lined up presilsy). But it can be done!
Just another way to prove if you fiddle with things long enough you can figure it out and it can work!

just a few quick questions, 1. do these work on all spud cannons (pneumatics, combustions etc, i would assume so) and 2. Do you need to insulate them, and if so with what, what works best and is cheap and eays to get a hold of.

First let me say this: Illegal to make in the united states with out a firearm silencer permit

Secondly: the silencer needs to have LOTS of volume (3/4 volume of barrel at least) which would make it extremely inefficient in spudguns.

Well just about everything is illegal in aus, well pneumatics are illegal so i dont really care if i make a silencer and its illegal, the guns just as illegal so wat difference does it make :P, how would i figure out 3/4 the volume of my barrel, my barrel is 80cm 1/2"? i was going to go with a 20cm silencer whcih would be made of 2", and use steel wool to insulate.

Cheers, Thursto

To find 3/4 of the volume of the barrel find the volume of the barrel with the formula Volume = pi * r^2 * Length of barrel.
Then divide the number by 4 to get 1/4 of the barrels volume, then multiply by 3 to get 3/4.
Failure to plan is planning to fail.

(3/4 volume of barrel at least)
You want at least the same volume as your chamber.
my barrel is 80cm 1/2"? i was going to go with a 20cm silencer whcih would be made of 2", and use steel wool to insulate.
Why not have the silencer over the full length of your barrel, have a read through this thread. If I were you I'd use scouring pads or similar instead of steel wool if it's for a pneumatic.

Allright well i did that in my calculated and got 610.73 so is that the size that my silencer needs to be?

Ignore the calculations - this isn't a case of C:B ratio where there's an optimal size, for silencers volume counts - so make it as big as you can.

Allright well my chamber will be about 20cm of 2" so ill make my silencer out of 2" and 20cm, but then you gotta inclue all the fittings n crap to get it to 1/2". its either 2" or 1.5" but i dont know if my local hardware store has fittings to get it from 1.5" to 1/2". i know they do it to get from 2" to 1/2".
