Very very nice i have one question though are all sprinkler valve guns this powerfull and what do you meen by heavily modded and would i get better results if i trigered it by a 1/4" QEV?

It's really hard to say. I've had 3 different sprinker valves and all have given different results. The one on there now is worth 90 bucks but luckerly, because my friend works at a plumbing shop, I got it for 28 bucks. It just has the biggest flow and opening time I have personally seen so far.

Yes I can imagine you would get better results. The faster you dump the air in that pilot, the faster the valve will open. I'm currently upgrading the blow gun to a 130psi Pop-off valve so I should expect better results.

ok thanks i dont know if i should get a sprinkler and mod it buy a 3/4" QEV and use the 1/4" qev to pilot the 3/4" qev...

Well...Thats a hard call. If you have the money then go the QEV's but they are a hell of a lot more expensive then sprinkler valves and the results are only gonna be a tad better. But good luck with the build. Let us know when ya cannon is all complete. I'll be looking forward to it.

ok thanks i will have to ask around about the QEV Vs sprinkler but then again if its only going to be a tad better i might get a sprinkler. and i will be shore to let you know when its completed.

Hi Mitchza

Yeah I guess I filed off too much of the bottles' threads. I will get new bottles and try again.

I will also get that tool (what is its English name??) for cutting smooth conical surfaces, and use that on the end of the (iron) fitting that I will screw the bottle into. And, I will get an extra 3/4 inch female brass fitting of any kind, cut some slices in it with an angle grinder, and see if cutting threads in the bottle with that first is of any use.

I made the same discovery about crushing the bottle, and how to prevent it .. damn I don't have more than a single Danish bottle around now. They are so sturdy that they won't crush.

Keeping at it is the best way to get things to work mate. The good thing is, is bottles are nice, cheap and easy to find. If you break one or stuff one up, It cost very little to get another haha. Thats why I use them. I wish I had those tough Danish bottles in Australia. Would make everything a hell of a lot easier for me haha.

i have a pneumatic aswell but i have never seen or thought of the idea of using a coke bottle as a airchamber
very good idea i like it, how much psi could one of the coke bottles hold, because i live in australia and the reach a max of 110-120 PSI

Hey thanks alot. With the 1.25L bottles, I wouldn't go past 120psi. I've taken a bottle up to a bit higher and never had a problem but who is to say it won't happen. I plan to upgrade pretty soon to a pvc chamber but untill I can pump to 180psi, I can't be bothered haha.

Not too long at all. Thats the best thing about poly parts, everything screws into eachother. only takes about 5 min to dis-assemble and re-assemble so its air tight.

I disagree, I have 2 cannons that sport 2" chambers with 3/4" paintball barrels, the piston one when using steel slugs are noticeably more powerful. Nothing crazy but at least a 50% increase in power.
More like the difference between a modded and unmodded sprinkler valve.

Well....It all depends on the brand of sprinker valve. I have made 2 piston paintballers and I tell ya...the results are pretty damn close. The sprinker valve I use, isnt like most I've seen. It's worth 90 bucks. It has a huge sealing face and enormous flow. Untill I start going over 180psi, My sprinker valve suits me fine.
