I'm attempted, a brass barrel would be enough for most of our builds too.

No reason why the same approach wouldn't work for steel, although you'd probably need cutting fluid and multiple passes.

Suggest you post a drawing of the part with dimensions.

Hey guys, I wanted to see if any of you machinists that are available can give me a quote on some work I need done. Here's a quick illustration

I need it made of steel and there really aren't a lot of exact specs, the important thing is that it has the male threaded plug, female threads on the pipe, and that the plug is the same OD as the pipe. This will be a reservoir for a coaxial project.

Not exactly machining, but the result looks good enough, would be suitable for large bore launchers.

Saw this the other day, here is a full imgur album for a .44 barrel. Amazing way of doing it without the real need for machine tools. of course you deed a 3D printer to replicate this exact process but you can easily imaging carving out the channels by hand on a wooden dowel.

Just a showcase of some stuff I have created, not really machined, more like sculptered, I only have access to a decent drill press, the rest is all hand tools. Mostly not spudgun related parts. If your'e patient and good with tools it's surprising what you can make.

Front sprocket for my mountain bike, 1/8 stainless steel

Clamp for the sprocket I created first on Solid Works

And a spudgun part underway, the ammo box/vortex block housing for my next project (after BFG #7 is finished)
