Haha, oh well I was totally off, about Ant's Gun how much pressure can a plastic coke bottle handle before it explodes. Just so I know not to pump it too much or else boom! possible injuries. Well yeah coolRagnarok wrote:Not quite. 7.5 bar is just under 110 psi. It's Nerf or Nothing.
Don't start crying when I play this as my hobby, Paintball, Airsoft and Nerf are equally good hobbies, except you can play Nerf in public. Good day! Hmph!

Well I am telling you its good man! I mean you can even pump it up with a bikepump or something. Oh yeah I did testing at what pressure coke bottles explode. The think walled ones (1.5L) blows at 23 bar, I am not sure about the thinwalled ones. I once did blow up a thickwalled 1.5 liter bottle bc I put fuel and acetone in it for other use. This made the bottom really weak, and while I was shooting the bottom shot off. The bad thing was that I was using the bottle as stock:S So yeah never put anything into a bottle except air, so you know what ur handling (btw the bottle with weak bottom was pumped to only 8 bars).littlebro05 wrote:Haha, oh well I was totally off, about Ant's Gun how much pressure can a plastic coke bottle handle before it explodes. is it possible to make an adapter for co2 work with this because ive heard that high pressure c02 is more dense than air and will give you a faster shot. but even so you could make a hammer valve like ant and have an automatic

given the same pressure air will give more powerful shot over c02.Mr.Sandman wrote:is it possible to make an adapter for co2 work with this because ive heard that high pressure c02 is more dense than air and will give you a faster shot. but even so you could make a hammer valve like ant and have an automatic

thanks for the info. I will now go hit myself with a hammer
Doesn't co2 expand at a faster rate though? And you are talking about the same energy, but that doesnt mean that they have the same pressure right? Co2 doesnt need a regulator.MrCrowley wrote:Because CO2 is denser, it is heavier then air. Meaning it will travel slower then air and therefore be less powerful given both have been applied the same amount of energy.

I was thinking about this old link: how- to refillable co2 cartridges
Anyway, I was thinking of the refillable co2 cart. except the round end would be sawed off and the shrader with internals removed, Would make the blow-forward chamber encasing the spring and bolt.
I was thinking a bicycle tire fill (valve modded slightly) would be attached onto the shrader of the modified refillable co2 cart. (blow forward bolt case).
I was wondering if the tire fill was upside down or inverted and liquid co2 entered the blow forward bolt, couldn't a certain spring be used that would remain closed until the co2 vaporizes (thus expanding and pulsing the bolt)?
Hope I haven't rambled too much, but I don't have much time right now.
Thanks I'll have to check back later. 8)

Whats the diametre of the Syringe and how stiff is the spring? Im thinking of making a metal breech exactly the same. Im planning to make the spring quite stiff in order to have more pressure build up inside the chamber and blow off a more powerful shot. Will this work or will the gas just take longer to come out (8 gram n2o setup).

The syringe diameter was far too great for my purposes, you could get by with 1/2" diameter, especially if you're using high pressure.

If your barrel diameter is larger than Jack's, you will need to scale that size, but roughly twice the barrel ID should easily be sufficient for relatively small bores like this.kuya wrote:Half Inch Diameter? That seems a bit small considering the OD of my barrel.
Larger sizes of blow forward bolt probably won't need quite that much.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

It's a question of spring stiffness really. A weak spring doesn't need a big piston at all, much less if used in conjunction with an efficient valve.
